Agaricus Blazei
Agaricus subrufescens
The almond mushroom, sourced organic for the THREEE blend.
Where Agaricus Blazei Comes From
Agaricus Blazei (Agaricus subrufescens), often called the almond mushroom for its faint marzipan scent, was first noted growing wild in the warm, humid hills of Brazil before being cultivated and studied around the world. Today it is grown on composted substrate under controlled conditions in several countries, with Brazil and parts of East Asia among the longest-running producers. For THREEE, we use organic Agaricus Blazei, sourced for the blend.
Ten mushrooms, named and measured. This is one of them.
What the research explores
AndoSan extract in multiple myeloma patients (randomized, double-blinded)
In this randomized, double-blinded trial of patients undergoing high-dose chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation, the Agaricus blazei-based extract AndoSan was associated with increased regulatory T cells, plasmacytoid dendritic cells, and elevated serum IL-1ra, IL-5, and IL-7, though no significant differences in clinical outcomes emerged between groups.

Agaricus blazei extract in birch-allergic blood donors (randomized trial)
In this randomized clinical trial, birch-allergic participants taking an Agaricus blazei-based extract showed reductions in specific IgE levels during pollen season and reported fewer allergic symptoms and less medication use compared with placebo.
Agaricus subrufescens: a review
This review summarizes the taxonomy, cultivation history, and reported bioactive compounds of Agaricus subrufescens, including its beta-glucans, and discusses the existing research literature on the species along with safety considerations.

What Agaricus Blazei Brings to the Cup
Agaricus Blazei is one of the ten organic mushrooms in the THREEE blend, contributing naturally occurring beta-glucans and other polysaccharides characteristic of the species. It is included as part of a fully disclosed mushroom profile, measured rather than hidden behind a proprietary label.
The THREEE truth
Organic Agaricus Blazei is part of the disclosed 520mg organic mushroom blend in every cup of THREEE.
A short history
A closer look at one landmark study.
In a randomized, double-blinded clinical study, researchers gave an Agaricus blazei Murill-based extract (AndoSan) or placebo to patients with multiple myeloma undergoing high-dose chemotherapy and autologous stem cell transplantation. The investigators observed that the extract group had increased percentages of regulatory T cells and plasmacytoid dendritic cells, alongside elevated serum levels of IL-1ra, IL-5, and IL-7. No statistically significant differences in clinical outcomes, such as treatment response or survival, were seen between the two groups. The study describes immune-marker observations only and makes no claims about coffee or any consumer product.
One of ten. All in one cup.
Agaricus Blazei is one of ten organic mushrooms we list by name and amount. The full blend is printed on every cup, so you can read it for yourself before the first sip.
