Reishi
Ganoderma lingzhi
The quiet one. Organic Reishi, fully disclosed in every cup.
Where organic Reishi comes from
Reishi (Ganoderma lingzhi, long known in commerce as Ganoderma lucidum) is a hard, woody bracket fungus that grows on hardwood logs and stumps, most often on oak and other broadleaf trees in warm, humid forests across Asia. Wild specimens are uncommon, so the Reishi used today is cultivated on logs or supplemented sawdust under controlled conditions, then dried and milled. For THREEE we use organic Reishi, sourced for the blend.
Some things ask for attention. Reishi just sits with you.
What the research explores
Reishi beta-glucan and immune cell markers in healthy adults
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, healthy adults taking 200 mg of Ganoderma lucidum beta-glucan daily for 84 days showed statistically significant increases in several immune parameters, including CD3+, CD4+ and CD8+ T-lymphocyte counts and natural killer cell counts, compared with placebo. The study reported no adverse effects.

Reishi spore powder and cancer-related fatigue
A pilot clinical trial in breast cancer patients undergoing endocrine therapy observed that those given Ganoderma lucidum spore powder for four weeks reported greater improvement in fatigue, physical well-being and quality-of-life scores than controls. This was a small pilot study in a specific patient population, not a study of the general public.

Cochrane review of Reishi in cancer care
A Cochrane systematic review of Ganoderma lucidum in cancer treatment concluded there was insufficient evidence to support it as a first-line cancer therapy, while noting it was generally well tolerated. The review summarized existing clinical trials rather than reporting new findings.

What organic Reishi brings to the cup
Organic Reishi is the steadying note in the blend. It carries the polysaccharides and triterpenes that have made it one of the most studied culinary-medicinal mushrooms, and in THREEE it sits alongside nine other organic mushrooms as part of a fully disclosed formula. We describe what it contributes in structure and function terms only, and we let the dose on the label speak for itself.
The THREEE truth
Organic Reishi is one of ten mushrooms in the disclosed 520mg organic mushroom blend found in every cup of THREEE.
A short history
A closer look at one landmark study.
The clearest human evidence comes from a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in healthy adults aged 18 to 55. Participants took 200 mg of beta-glucan derived from Ganoderma lucidum daily for 84 days, while a matched group received placebo. The Reishi group showed statistically significant increases in several immune cell populations, including CD3+, CD4+ and CD8+ T-lymphocytes and natural killer cells, with no adverse effects reported. Because it studied an isolated beta-glucan in a defined dose and duration, it describes the ingredient under research conditions rather than any particular product.
One of ten. All in one cup.
Reishi has been used for a very long time, and it is not in a hurry. It is in the blend because it belongs there, fully listed, in every cup. When you are ready for a calmer dark roast, it will be waiting.
